Once you know your Moon sign, read ahead to discover your nature . . . .

Sun Sign or Moon Sign ?

Generally there is a confusion among many people whether to follow Sun sign or Moon sign / rashi and many wanted to know the differentiation between them.

The Moon is said to rule your personality, while the Sun rules your individuality. The Sun influences our total self or our personality. The Sun therefore represents the way we are seen by others around us. The Moon represents the more of our inner world of feelings and emotions, and how we feel about ourselves. The Sun rules the day, but moon has an altogether mysterious side, with deeper more hidden aspects. The Moon is an important planet in the zodiac sky that greatly influences our lives.

 Why Moon sign ?

Moon has a stronger impact as it goes through the entire Zodiac in a 28 day cycle, unlike the Sun and other planets which take longer periods. Hence the lunar effects are marked and vary on a monthly basis which helps us tune ourselves with the cosmic skies. Both Sun and Moon plays an important role in guiding the destiny of an individual; however, Moon sign predictions are considered more accurate and elaborate as it takes into consideration every aspect of celestial activity. That is why Vedic astrology follows Moon sign predictions.

 What’s your Moon Sign?

The Moon rules human emotions. Learning about your Moon Sign / rashi allows you to know your feelings and characteristics. Traditional Astrology explains that the Moon Sign represents the characteristics we inherit from our parents, though it is also true that many believe that the Moon sign shows the way we face, instinctively, different situations. The Moon Sign / rashi is related to the day and month plus the year we were born. It is the sign where the Moon was traveling through at the time of our birth.

The 27 Nakshatras spread across the 12 zodiac signs lie entirely within a sign, whereas certain stars overlap in two zodiac signs. Each nakshatra has its own ruling deity and powers, which play a major role in deciding the characteristics of an individual. Everyone born on this earth has nakshatra and rashi based on date of birth and placement of moon decide the rashi and nakshatra.

These nakshatra and rashi are broadly classified under the three heads of Deva (divine), Nara (human) and Rakshasa (Demonic). Farther, they are subdivided by their gender and Varna (cast), and are also ascribed with qualities such as colour, presiding deity, merits and ruler ship of body parts, planets etc.

The effects of a particular planet is studied with Birth nakshtra and rashi and its pada born in mind. Indians through ages have been taking into account these Nakshatras for determining the auspicious dates and Muhurtha (moment) for any cultural or religious event including marriage. The role of Nakshatras and their respective Padas in predictive astrology is unique to Indian astrology.
